All in all it was fine for 2 construction workers only paying 125 each a week for a job less than 2 minutes away. We don't ask for much... So any construction worker or someone looking for a cheap place to stay weekly it's good. If you want a "home away from home" you're better off in Glenwood at the "Oak Tree Inn."

I really wanted to like this place, but my stay turned out to be a frustrating disaster. I was in town for an arts summit. The key/lock on my door simply did not work. The internet does not work. The ice machine does not work. The lighting was poor & kinda creepy. The room had an offputting smell, like urine. The first day I arrived (no one was there for check in, they literally put the keys under the mats), I could not unlock my door & needed help. The second day I spent a good 15-20 minutes trying to lock my door - unsuccessfully. This caused me to arrive late to my event & I missed breakfast. Naturally I was also very concerned to have left my door unlocked, so I called the office, no answer, & left a message asking that someone lock my door asap. I received a text later that day stating that my door had been locked, but when I returned that evening, my door was NOT locked. Not cool guys! Thank god I took my computer and expensive equipment with me, though I'm not excited that it had to bake in my hot car all day... On my last day, there was one person on site and I mentioned that the lock on my door was broken and had not been locked earlier. They responded by saying that the lock was bad on the door (why are you renting the room when you KNOW the lock is bad?! Um, fix it please?). I feel like they actually lied to me about locking my door, hoping I just wouldn't notice. Very sketchy. I was also told the town was "safe." I don't care how safe the town is, I need to be able to lock my door and know that my equipment and belongings are safe. This should be a no brainer. Check out took at least a good half hour - the internet wasn't working again & it didn't help that the woman did not know what she was doing. After a few failed attempts, she had to call someone to walk her through the check out process. This delay caused me to completely miss my final program at the summit! Ugh, what a mess. I hate to have to share these negative experiences, but you guys deserve the heads up. Manage your expectations accordingly... A couple positives? The tv worked. And although the beds are nothing to write home about, the pillows were decent.

Service - I can't address this since I never saw an employee. Everything is self-service.

I travel over 100 nights a year. This is by far the worst place I have every stayed. And for $70 I have stayed in much nicer places. What a dump.

Cleanliness - I had to decide which bed in the room has less stains on the sheets.

Internet - if they have it, I wasn't aware of it.

Reservations - the front desk in never staffed so get ready for a game of phone tag.

TV - 2 remotes, get ready to spend some time trying to figure out which does what.

Room temperature - there is a standard wall unit and a wall thermostat on the opposite wall. Again, good luck figuring out which does what.

Check-in - they leave your name & room on a sheet on the always locked lobby door, with your key under the mat. Except my name wasn't on the sheet.

Was very disappointed. When we first got to the hotel it was late. The room was very musky/ moldy smelling. Woke up to find black mold on the celling and bed bugs. Would never suggest this hotel to anyone. Good luck to anyone who goes here.

Bed - moment of truth, why does anyone pay for a hotel room? For a good nights sleep. The 1970's called and they are missing mattresses. Soft & horrible.

Late 2017, I needed a cheap place to stay for a month or 2 for a the solar project in starbuck. The rate was 250 a week which is quite good for most places I've stayed. The place is ran by a married couple from their phones when they have a free moment. Theres no "front desk" help. Only a man or woman that may or may not answer your phone call or text. The room was to be expected; small town and what not, 2 queen beds, dated patterns but not smelly. Was off put by the squashed mosquitos still dead all over the walls. Base board heaters cooked us even on the lowest settings so they weren't ever used. The wall unit is noise as can be and when we arrived we didn't receive a fridge until almost day 7. The toilet clogged up during our 4th week and we had to use the gas station bathroom beside the hotel for a day or 2. They didnt have a plunger on the premises at all. The WiFi was severely spotty and eventually it just didn't work at all. To my knowledge the owners didn't have keys to the rooms so in order for house keeping to clean your room, which they did an absolutely awful job at, you had to leave your key under the doormat (a terrible idea when you've got all of your belongings and 1000s of dollars in technology in your room, laptops and such.) The cleaning lady didn't vacuum or wipe any counterpace that had something on top of it, only bare space was cleaned and the bathroom was never moped nor was the toilet scrubbed, it still has a black smear on the floor and around the inside of the bowl. We weren't ever given a microwave so we had to ask for one from a coworker living upstairs that wasn't using theirs, the backlight was dead so we never could use it. The sheets were rarely changed and if they were to be changed the maid wouldn't touch it if you had even 1 sock on the bed and she would leave a note saying to remove clothes from the bed if you wanted them changed.

Extremely noisy w/ people that seem to live there- a woman was loudly arguing and cussing somone on the walkway outside our room. The room was dark and dank. The bed was more than uncomfortable. The toilet would not flush properly...probably a great room for a couple of guys to hang out on the lake & drink beer to the point of not caring what the room was like. It was not the best place for my daughter and I to spend our last weekend together before leaving her for the school year. Very little on the ad I read is true- no one at the desk at 7 PM- no wifi- no one answered the phine at either number in the guest guide. The lady was very nice about refunding my money, however.
