Good amount of elevation change for a park near the prairie. The hiking was pretty, the trails are well kept, and the campground seemed quiet. Nice out of the way park when you're looking to get away from people.

Great spring fed lake. Really nice rustic cabins if you don't want to stay in a tent. Beautiful views from hiking trails. Rent a paddle board, kayak, or canoe and see the awesome wildlife in and around the lake.

The reason for the 2 stars is because this place is INFESTED with mosquitoes! They are everywhere even during the day, there are many many mosquitos. If you don't like being bitten when you are making your noon meal by the fire or when you go on an early afternoon hike on the trail be warned! I know this is part of camping but the number here is the largest I've ever seen at a camp. It's like one of the plagues of Egypt right now here!

Aside from that, this is one of the nicest state parks in Minnesota! It's too bad there is zero bug control here! Flys and bees everywhere as well.

fun and hike with beautiful views. There were some step, but do-able hills. We hike a lot of the Minnesota State Parks and really enjoyed this one!

Giving 3 stars because there wasn't enough parking for "day" visitors. We did drive through the campgrounds though. The group campground and general campsites looked well taken care of and good sites for all types of camping. The horse park left a lot to be desired, no shade for horses and it didn't appear that there would be much room for horses to graze if the camp was full.
